Grant Allocation and Revenue Commitment
Mode, a modular decentralized finance (DeFi) Layer 2 network, has secured a grant of up to 2 million OP tokens (approximately $5.3 million) from the Optimism Foundation. This grant is intended to incentivize user growth on Mode’s platform.
As part of this initiative, Mode will contribute a portion of its revenue to the Optimism Collective, a community that supports public goods for Ethereum.
Mode’s Role in the Superchain Network
Mode’s primary objective is to establish itself as a DeFi hub within the Superchain network, a collection of Layer 2 blockchains developed by Optimism. Mode will focus on fostering the growth of interoperable DeFi applications and infrastructure within this ecosystem.
Mode is also committed to developing open-source tools for the Superchain ecosystem. These tools will include native yield, smart treasuries, on-chain AI agents, and other resources dedicated to public goods.
Mode’s Mainnet Launch
Mode’s mainnet is scheduled to be launched at the end of January. This launch will mark the official commencement of its operations as a decentralized finance platform.
Concluding Remarks
Mode’s collaboration with the Optimism Foundation is a significant step towards expanding its user base and establishing itself as a key player within the Superchain network. The grant will provide Mode with the necessary resources to implement growth initiatives and contribute to the overall health of the Ethereum ecosystem.
